QB
Brandon Weeden – Weeden was my week 7 QB flier and
hopefully you picked him up then. In
week 7 Weeden threw for 264 yards and 2 TD’s.
A 55 yard drop in the end zone by Josh Gordon prevented a 319 yard 3 TD
day. This week Weeden faces San Diego and they allow the 8th most
fantasy points to QB’s. If you’ve been starting a QB for any of the week 8 bye teams (Buff, Cinn, Balt and Hous), Weeden
is the perfect bye week fill in.
Josh Freeman – Freeman was my Week 7 QB waiver add.
With the guys on bye this week (listed above) he should be starting for you if
you’ve been riding one of those qb’s. In week 7 Freeman threw for 420 yards and
3 TD’s. Week 8 the Bucs play the Vikings on Thursday Night Football and they
allow the 10th most fantasy points to QB’s.
RB
Rashad Jennings – Obvious add with MJD out week 8 and
maybe longer. He’s waiver gold this
week.
La'Rod Stephens-Howling –
LSH
appears to be over his hip injury as he carried the load in week 7; rushing 20
times for 104 yards while notching 4 catches for 45 yards. Only 5’7” and 185
lbs, LSH functioned as the goal line back as well. William Powell has been
prone to fumble of late and LSH has history of stepping up for the oft injured
Cards backs. LSH is a quality flex in PPR leagues and offers upside in return
yardage leagues as well. The only problem is that he is facing San Fran in week
8 and the rest of the NFC West top defenses going forward.
RB Flier’s
Philip Tanner – Fragile Felix bruised his knee in
week 7 and Tanner got 13 carries.
Jaime Harper – CJ2K did all the heavy lifting in week
7 and Harper closed the deals with two goal line plunges for TD’s. Harper
carved out 7 carries and could be Michael Bush-like in the right match ups.
Week 8 is one of those matchups; the Colts allow the 5th most
fantasy points to RB’s.
WR
Josh Gordon – Gordon was my week 7 flier and he got 10 targets, catching
only 2 but for 59 yards and a TD. He lost a 55 yard TD in the sun and thus just
missed a 100+ yard day with 2 TD’s. Week 8 he faces the Chargers who allow the 6th
most fantasy points to WR’s. His production is reliant on the big play, but the
upside is certainly there in the right matchups.
Titus Young – In week 7 Nate Burleson broke his leg and thus locked Young
into the #2 role opposite Calvin Johnson. Young got 8 targets, 6 receptions and
81 yards against the Bears. With Megatron getting all the attention, Young
should be able to take advantage of 1 on 1 matchups. He’s now an every week WR3
in that pass happy offense.
WR Flier’s
Ryan Broyles – Now the slot receiver for the Lions due to Burleson’s
injury, Broyles deserves attention in PPR leagues. He caught Detroit’s only TD
in week 7 and should put heat on Young to produce.
Santana Moss – Moss has quietly put together a few weeks of WR3 production
and should be more involved going forwards with the loss of Fred Davis for the
season. Over the last 3 weeks Moss has
averaged 64 yards and a TD per game.
TE
Dustin Keller – After only 2 catches on the year and
inactive with injury 4 games, Keller showed that he’s back to being Sanchez’s
favorite target. In week 7 Keller caught all 7 of his targets for 93 yards and
a TD. Check your wire and see if an
owner bailed on him.
