HOT
QB
Ryan
Fitzpatrick –
After getting a vote of confidence from Chan Gailey, saying they will ride with
Fitzpatrick until they ‘develop’ a quarterback of the future and not
necessarily look to replace him; maybe that will boost his confidence and thus
performance this week vs. the Jags. Jacksonville allows the 10th
most fantasy points, 5th most completions and 5th most
passing yards to QB’s. 2 weeks ago Jax got shredded by Schaub for
527 yards and 5 TD’s.
Matt
Schaub –
Schaub is on a roll of late. Over his last two games he’s averaged 421 passing
yards and 3 TD’s. This week he faces the Titans who allow more fantasy points
to QB’s than his last two opponents (Jax and Det).
Honorable
mention:
Brandon Weeden – Oakland gives
up 2nd most fantasy points and most passing TD’s to QB’s.
RB
Knowshon
Moreno –
It’s good to be a veteran running back on a John Fox team and even greater to
have Peyton Manning as your QB. After a
surprise start last week Moreno ran for 85 yards on 20 touches and caught 4
balls for 26 yards. This week the Broncos face the Bucs and they have allowed
the fewest rushing yards to date of any defense in the league. However, that
doesn’t scare me when Manning is your QB. He will check in and out of runs and
provide many opportunities to catch swing, hook and screen passes. Tampa has allowed the 5th most
receptions to RB’s. Moreno is an RB2
in PPR and solid flex in standard leagues.
Jonathan
Dwyer –
Tomlin has come out and said that Dwyer is his guy. He’s knocked Mendenhall
down to 3rd on the depth chart. This week he’ll be asked to help
Charlie Batch keep the Steelers in a big divisional game against the
Ravens. The Ravens have allowed the 5th
most rushing yards to date. 2 weeks ago Dwyer averaged 4.6 yards per carry
against the Ravens and caught 3 balls while splitting duties.
Honorable
mentions:
Michael Turner and Jacquizz Rodgers – Saints allow most fantasy points to RB’s.
WR
Pierre
Garcon – Last week Garcon caught 4 balls for 86 yards and a
TD. This week he faces the Giants and he did not play in that game. But RGIII still threw for 258 yards and 2
TD’s in that game with his best wideout. The Giants are allowing the 5th
most fantasy points and the most receiving TD’s to WR’s.
Ryan
Broyles – Last week Broyles amassed a massive 12 targets
catching 6 for 126 yards. This week he will start opposite Megatron and benefit
from the attention he garners. With Titus Young out of favor with the team
Broyles is a sneaky WR3 and has sweet upside in PPR leagues. This week the
Lions face the Colts and they allow the 5th most fantasy points and
tied for 2nd most receptions to WR’s.
Honorable
mentions:
Steve Johnson and Josh Gordon
TE
Dallas
Clark –
In his last two starts he’s caught a combined 11 balls for 123 yards and 1 TD.
This week he goes up against the Broncos and they allow the most fantasy
points, 3rd most receiving yards and tied for most receiving TD’s to
TE’s.
Honorable
mentions: Martellus Bennett and Ben Watson
NOT
QB
Josh
Freeman –
While the Broncos allow the 8th most fantasy points to QB’s and you’d
figure the Bucs would have to throw to keep pace with Manning in Denver, but
the recipe for stopping the Bucs in this game is simple; Put Champ on Vincent
Jackson and load the box to stop the Muscle Hamster.
Watch
out: Robert Griffin III – The Giants are the first team to play RGIII twice, so they have their
own tape and principals (gaps and fits) to review and the Giants have the
second most interceptions this year.
RB
Alfred
Morris –
He was successful in his first meeting with the Giants, rushing for 120 yards
on 22 carries back in week 7, but like RGIII that was his first game against
the Giants as well. After week 12 the Giants run defense has been allowing the
4th fewest points to RB’s. Morris has had only had ONE rushing
touchdown in the last FIVE games and eclipsed 100 yards rushing once in the last 4 games.
Doug
Martin –
See Josh Freeman above. Additionally the Broncos allow the 7th
fewest fantasy points to RB’s.
Watch
out: BenJarvus Green-Ellis
– Traveling out west to face a Chargers team that
allows the 9th fewest rushing yards and the 3rd fewest
rushing TD’s.
WR
Watch
out: Vincent Jackson – Champ Bailey - Poor history when in San
Diego.
Watch
out: Brandon Marshall – “U Mad Bro” – Seattle will get in his head
and Marshall will take himself out of the game after they bang and push him
around all day.
Watch
out:
Larry Fitzgerald – Traveling East, Lindley at QB and Antonio
Cromartie.
TE
Brandon
Myers –
The Cleveland Browns allow the fewest fantasy points to TE’s. He hasn’t topped
60 yards since week 6 and only 3 times all year. This is a matchup to avoid.
Watch
out: Brandon
Pettigrew and
Jermaine Gresham.
